About Altimist
Software was built for people to operate.
It now has to be built for agents to act.
Everything else is a consequence.
Altimist is a London company building the layer that lets an agent be a party to the work: reach it, change it, be accountable for it, and settle up. The suite you can use today is how we prove the layer is real.
Why now
Three things, in the order they became true
- 01
Agents moved from advising to acting. Everyone can see it and nobody disputes it. It is the only premise the rest of this depends on.
- 02
Acting requires being a party. An identity a counterparty can verify, an authority that can be scoped, and a way to settle. None of that exists yet — the bottleneck was never intelligence.
- 03
No single incumbent can supply it alone. An identity layer only has value if it resolves between organisations, which is precisely what a company that owns one side of every conversation cannot build by itself.
What we built, and why in that order
Five inevitabilities, not five products
Each of these exists because the sentence at the top of this page requires it. Accept the sentence and the list explains itself.

The company, honestly. It should look like a small serious company, not a stock “startup”. A second, tighter frame of two people at one screen would work as an alternative crop.

How we work
First principles, in the open
We question the defaults, rebuild from fundamentals, and follow the logic wherever it leads. It is how we build and how we hire.
Open by default
Context, decisions and works-in-progress are shared, not siloed. Anyone can read anything — and question anyone.
Collegiate, not hierarchical
We debate ideas hard and treat people generously. The best reasoning wins, whoever it comes from.
Agents amplify judgement
People do the thinking; the agents do the toil. We build the company on the product we sell, every day.
Own the outcome
Take a problem end to end — frame it, build it, measure it, iterate. We reward slope, not tenure.
