Working at Altimist
Come build the
intelligent operating system.
For the few who found us — and can’t stop thinking about changing how the world operates.
How we think
We reason from first principles — questioning the defaults, rebuilding from fundamentals, and following the logic wherever it leads.
It’s how we build, and how we hire. We’d rather understand one thing deeply than accept ten by convention — and we work it out in the open, together.
How we hire
Altimist is growing — deliberately, and by hand. We’re adding new people to the team, but not through job ads, agencies, or CV screens. We interview only those who found us on their own and couldn’t stay away, and we take them on initiative and evidence alone. No positions to fill — only work that deserves the right people, and room for a few more of them.
Image placeholder
The room you’d be joining. Candid, mid-work: a handful of people around one screen at Battersea, whiteboard or a diagram visible, nobody looking at the camera. It has to read as a small team doing hard work in the open — the opposite of a stock office photograph. Landscape, warm light.

What it takes
No checklist of years or titles. One bar — and it doesn’t move.
- 01
You found us. You heard about Altimist and came looking. That self-selection is the first signal.
- 02
A burning desire. You want to change how the world operates — and you can’t not work on it.
- 03
A-class, only. The top grade of talent and of character. There is no B-team, and no exceptions.
- 04
Initiative as default. We’re all self-starters. Nobody here waits to be told what to do.
- 05
Intellectual honesty. You follow the evidence, change your mind in public, and would rather be right than look right.
- 06
Pride in the craft. World-class outcomes, or it doesn’t ship. “Good enough” isn’t.
- 07
A team player. Brilliance without generosity doesn’t belong here.
How we work
Around first principles: a small, open, collegiate team that shares everything and argues ideas, not egos.
Open by default
Context, decisions, and works-in-progress are shared, not siloed. Anyone can read anything — and question anyone.
Collegiate, not hierarchical
We debate ideas hard and treat people generously. The best reasoning wins, whoever it comes from.
Agents amplify judgement
You do the thinking; the agents do the toil. We hire for how you reason, then multiply it.
Own the outcome
Take a problem end to end — frame it, build it, measure it, iterate. We reward slope, not tenure.
If part of you is already drafting the message — that’s the signal.
There’s no form and no list of roles. Tell us what you’d change about how the world operates, and what you’ve already built. That is the whole application.
